Camila Maric, Langley High School Senior, performed a solo during the VMEA Senior Honors Choir performance at the Homestead in November.
Miguel Daez played Motel the Tailor in Fiddler on the Roof, produced by the Capital Baptist Homeschool Co-op last weekend. Miguel is a home-educated junior.

Ava Plante, junior at Paul VI High School, played the part of Princess Fiona in the Lopez Conservatory Program's Production of Shrek, The Musical Jr., at Next Stop Theatre in Herndon on Sat., March 18.

The 2017 Northern Virginia Music Teachers Association (NVMTA) Voice Achievements event was held April 22 at the Woman's Club of Arlington. Results are posted HERE.

2016 NATS Convention
Miguel Daez performed at the NVMTA Winners' Recital on Feb. 12 at The Woman's Center of Arlington. Miguel received honors in the NVMTA Judged Musical Theatre competition last fall.
Jordan Prather, sophomore at McLean High School, played the role of Martha in the school's production of The Children's Hour.
NATS CONVENTION, JULY 2016
Peggy attended the 2016 National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) Convention in Chicago, which was attended by 1,300 teachers from all over the United States. There were some amazing presentations about voice health, the aging voice, musical styles, humorous art songs, and working with a pianist. The finalists of the two big NATS National Audition competitions (classical and musical theatre) also performed. (See photos in slideshow above.) Peggy met with Edrie Means Weekly, a former student and musical theatre instructor at Shenandoah Conservatory; and soprano Renee Fleming, who was the featured master teacher at the convention. Fleming, a wonderful advocate for the arts, also gave a recital with young singers from the Chicago Lyric Opera Company. Rochelle Fleming, Renee's sister, teaches musical theatre at Catholic University.
Student Workshops at McNulty Studio
Student workshops are held in the fall and spring in the McNulty Studio, with George Peachey as pianist. The students perform for one another; families and guests will have the opportunity to hear students perform at upcoming respective winter and spring recitals.
Carenna Slotkoff, McLean High School sophomore, placed third in both the Vocal and Theatre divisions of the James Macdonald Performing Arts Scholarship Competition held on March 29 at the McLean Community Theatre.
